The study identified high school students’ homework management profiles based on five strategies (environment, time, motivation, emotion, and distraction). It investigated the differences between profiles in terms of completion, time spent on homework, frequency, and academic achievement. The study was conducted with a sample of 860 high school students in grades 9–12, and the results obtained through latent profile analysis revealed five distinct profiles. These profiles underscore the varying levels of strategy use among students. The Master Strategists group demonstrated the highest levels of strategy use, while the Struggling Regulators and Minimal Strategists groups exhibited the lowest. The study found significant differences between the profiles in terms of homework completion and time, but no significant differences in academic achievement and frequency of homework. These results underscore the significance of customised strategies for enhancing students’ homework behaviours and underscore the pivotal role of distraction management in optimising homework performance.
