Özet

V2X Communications are the key enabling technologies of the Intelligent Transportation Systems for the Smart City applications. Integration of V2X communications in 5G made it the most prominent and demanding technology for the implementation and utilization of the ITS services. Anywhere \& anytime connectivity will also allow autonomous vehicles to operate safely in public transportation network. On the other hand, large number of users, large volume data demands, low latency and high reliability requirements introduce challenges in addition to the workload in the communication network. This chapter describes (1) the issues and challenges introduced by the vehicle traffic and related services for smart city/intelligent transportation applications, (2) the technological aspects in 5G communications for V2X communications, and (3) workload offloading approaches considering the challenges and the expected impact of the smart city applications.
