Uygulama on hafta sürmüştür.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach on third-grade elementary school students' attitudes toward sustainable water use. An action research design was used in the study. The study group consisted of 20 third-grade students enrolled at a public elementary school in Istanbul during the 2024-2025 academic year. The working group has been determined using appropriate sampling. The study first selected three elementary schools located in the Anatolian side of Istanbul, representing low, middle, and high socioeconomic levels. The "Water Attitude Scale" was administered to all third-grade students in these elementary schools, and an action research study was conducted with the class that had the lowest water usage attitude score. The application lasted ten weeks. During the first week of the study, the “Water Attitude Scale” was administered as a pre-test to all third-grade students in schools selected through appropriate sampling. Subsequently, the working group received water education using the PBL approach for eight weeks. In the final week of the study, the “Water Attitude Scale” was administered again as a final test, and a focus group interview was conducted with six students selected through criterion sampling. The “Water Attitude Scale,” focus group interview form, personal information form, student work products, student diary, and researcher diary were used to collect data. In the analysis of quantitative data, ANOVA and t-test or Kruskal-Wallis H test and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test will be used depending on the normality distribution. Descriptive analysis and content analysis will be used for the analysis of qualitative data. The data analysis process is ongoing, and the results obtained will be shared during the presentation.
