The aim of this research is to find out teacher competencies based on the views
of prospective history teachers who do internship in the context of teaching
practice course. In this respect, questions about the field education knowledge of
history teachers were prepared and the opinions of history teacher candidates
were taken. The problem statement of the research: In the context of teaching
qualifications, what are the field education knowledge competencies of history
teachers according to history teacher candidates? is in the form. The study group
of the research consists of 75 history teacher candidates, 27 male and 48 female
students, who do internships in different types of schools in the context of the
teaching practice course at Marmara University in the 2023-2023 academic year.
The pre-service teachers in the study group did internships in four different
school types, namely Anatolian High School, Anatolian Imam Hatip High
School, Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, and Multi-Program
Anatolian High School, and in total 18 different schools in the context of teaching
practice course for 6 hours a week. Qualitative research method and
phenomenology, one of the qualitative research designs, were preferred in the
research. The data of the research was collected by sharing an open-ended survey
form via Google. Descriptive and content analysis were used to analyze the data
obtained.
