Özet

Dokumacılık, Anadolu’nun kültürel zenginlikleri arasında önemli bir değeri olan ve

yöresel özellikleri yansıtan özgün bir el sanatıdır. Karadeniz Ereğlisi’nin geleneksel

dokumalarından biri olan “Elpek bezi” geçmişi çok eski dönemlere dayanan yöresel bir el

sanatıdır. Elpek bezi keten dokumalar kategorisinde yer almakta ve bu anlamda dokumacılık

sanatında önemli bir yer teşkil etmektedir. Çok eski zamanlardan beri Karadeniz Ereğlisi’nde

ana dokuma malzemesi olarak Elpek bezi kullanılmıştır. Buna örnek olarak yelken bezi

dokumacılığı gösterilebilir.

Bu araştırmada geleneksel el sanatları içinde önemli bir yeri olan Elpek bezi dokumacılık

sanatının üretim yapısının incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir.

Bu hedef doğrultusunda Elpek bezi dokumacılığında kullanılan teknikler, malzemeler ve

özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Bu çerçevede, yöreye ait el dokumacılığının geleneksel özellikleri

sunulmuştur.

Weaving is a unique handicraft that has a significant place among the cultural

richness of Anatolia and reflects the regional features.

"Elpek cloth", which is one of the traditional weavings of Karadeniz Ereğli, is a regional

handicraft dating back to ancient times.

Elpek cloth is involved in the category of linen fabrics and in this sense, it constitutes a

significant place in weaving art.

From very ancient times, Elpek cloth has been used as the basic weaving material in

Karadeniz Ereğlisi. Sail cloth weaving can be mentioned as a sample.

In this research, it is aimed to examine the production structure of the Elpek cloth weaving

art, which is an important part of the traditional handicrafts. In line with this goal, techniques,

materials and their properties are investigated.

Within this framework, traditional features of hand weaving that is peculiar to region, are

presented.
