Özet

Reduced graphene oxide (rGO), a graphene-derived material with tunable physicochemical properties, has emerged as a promising component for next-generation membrane systems. Owing to its high electrical conductivity, mechanical robustness, large specific surface area, and chemical stability, rGO offers significant potential to address permeability-selectivity trade-offs, fouling limitations, and structural weaknesses of conventional membranes. This review critically evaluates the structural characteristics, synthesis routes, and membrane-related properties of rGO, emphasizing the influence of reduction degree and fabrication strategies on morphology and transport performance. Moreover, recent applications of rGO-based membranes are discussed in detail, including wastewater treatment, desalination (reverse osmosis, membrane distillation, forward osmosis, pervaporation, and solar-driven desalination), energy conversion and storage, gas separation, and other emerging membrane-related applications. Finally, the review highlights that the performance of rGO-based membranes is governed by the interplay between reduction degree, interlayer spacing, and oxygen-containing functional groups, while challenges related to aggregation, scalable fabrication, and long-term stability remain key barriers to practical implementation. Future research directions toward multifunctional and sustainable membrane platforms are also proposed.
