Özet

Reviewing Academic Studies on Bibliotherapy in Turkey Bibliotherapy, which is a non-pharmaceutical intervention, is one of the important issues that have come to the agenda of field workers, especially after the pandemic process. With the increasing need of society for healing, there is an increase in scientific research in this field. Especially with the increase in applications in libraries in terms of information and record management, it is necessary to know the previous studies on bibliotherapy. Within the scope of this study, scientific studies in the field of bibliotherapy in Turkey have been compiled and classified through literature review and analyzed within the framework of determined parameters. There are many scientific studies in Turkey that help us to see the diversity and general trends of research in the field of bibliotherapy and to understand the impact of this technique on the well-being, psychological and mental health of individuals. The reviewed studies show the positive impact of bibliotherapy on individuals’ mental health. It is seen that most of these studies are produced in the fields of education, psychology, religion and literature. In particular, scientific studies have been conducted on the effect and usability of bibliotherapy technique in areas such as Turkish lessons, educational programs and professional development of teachers, and the applications of bibliotherapy in different fields such as religious education, professional stress management and family counseling have been discussed. Some studies have examined how bibliotherapy works with different age groups, psychological states and cultural contexts. Especially within the scope of art therapy, scientific studies have been conducted linking art disciplines such as theater and cinema. Studies on the effects of bibliotherapy on children, adolescents, adults and individuals with special needs have examined how children’s literature and fairy tales can be used in applications the effects of this technique on emotional well-being and psychological health, its role in psychological counseling and guidance, its effect on gifted children and individuals with psychological disorders. This study provides an in-depth meta-analysis of bibliotherapy practices and scientific research in this field.
