Özet

This book is composed of research studies in English language teaching (ELT) which highlight the changes and the challenges facing EFL learners, instructors, curriculum designers, school administrators and testers in the 21st century. The studies in the volume address a wide range of current issues in ELT: 21st century skills, critical thinking, multilingual professional identity, professional development, recruitment of native and non-native English-speaking teachers, World Englishes, needs analysis for learners, academic writing skills, and assessment of speaking performance. The research studies in the volume have been conducted with participants who are EFL learners, prospective teachers, instructors, administrators, and testers at various educational institutions, mainly universities, in Turkey.

The volume has been designed as a reference and resource book for researchers, academicians, postgraduate and advanced undergraduate students as well as for those ELT professionals who are interested in following current research to enhance their professional knowledge and skills.
