Özet

The main aim of this paper is to identify the most significant indicators that affect the efficiency of nuclear fusion investments. First, a list of criteria that affect the effectiveness of nuclear fusion energy projects has been determined. In this process, both data mining analysis and literature review results are taken into consideration. After that, the weights of the criteria that affect the performance of these projects are computed with Spherical fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution-Based Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (TOP-DEMATEL) technique. Next, 10 different countries that are active in nuclear energy production will be ranked according to their success in nuclear fusion energy investment projects. Within this framework, Spherical fuzzy Ranking Technique by Geometric Mean of Similarity Ratio to Optimal Solution (RATGOS) approach is taken into consideration. In addition, a comparative analysis is also performed with Spherical fuzzy Multi-Attributive Ideal-Real Comparative Analysis (MAIRCA). Similarly, a similarity analysis has been conducted by considering 10 different cases. The main contribution of this paper is that specific strategies can be presented for the improvement of nuclear fusion projects. Thus, more effective strategies can be recommended for the investors. The most significant methodological novelty is that two new decision-making approaches are proposed by the names of RATGOS and TOP-DEMATEL. Both comparative ranking evaluation and similarity analysis results provide similar findings. Therefore, it is identified that the results of the proposed model are coherent and consistent. The findings indicate that research and development works play the most important role for the effectiveness of nuclear fusion investments. Effective waste management is another key indicator in this context. On the other side, China, United States, France, and Russia are found as the best countries with respect to the effective nuclear fusion investments. It is strongly recommended that technological infrastructure needs to be prioritized in this context. With the help of advanced engineering technologies, it is possible for reactors to be more durable. Therefore, the disruptions in the energy production process can be minimized. As a result, efficiency can be provided in the investments.
