In semiconductor manufacturing processes, cycle time refers to the time taken to complete a production cycle. This time includes all stages from the beginning until the end of production. Cycle time is important because of its contribution to competitive advantage, cost effectiveness, customer satisfaction, technological development, process improvement and inventory reduction. Cycle time calculation is necessary for identifying bottlenecks, capacity and production planning. Low cycle time values can increase a manufacturer's competitive advantage in the semiconductor industry and allow it to adapt more quickly to ever-changing market conditions. Therefore, it is important to continuously monitor, analyze and improve cycle time values. In this study, the aim is to observe opportunities for improvement and to determine production planning strategies by calculating cycle time in semiconductor IC device manufacturing in a semiconductor research laboratory. For this purpose, the production processes were examined in detail with process videos taken for the SMED study, data kept in run cards, run tracking in the laboratory. The necessary data were collected through different means in order to constitute a framework for data analysis while digitalization is absent. Then, cycle time calculations were made with the collected data. Results were compared with the theoretical times, and the detected problems within the manufacturing process were isolated, inspected and solutions for them were generated.
