Özet

The contribution of appendectomy during the surgical staging of endometreial adenocarcinoma is contraversial. According to FIGO, appendectomy is not a part of surgical staging procedure. Coexistance of carcinoid tumor and endometrial adenocarcinoma are extremely rare association. However this association is absolutely incidental rather than causal relationship. Appendectomy could be added to staging procedure to detection of rare appendicial tumors however prognostic significance of this modification is unclear. In this report, we reported a 77 years old postmenopausal woman who underwent surgical staging due to endometrial adenocarcinoma and coincidental appendicial carcinoid was detected.
