ÖZET
Özel dershaneler, liseden üniversiteye geçişte köprü vazifesi gören öğretim kurumlarıdır. İlk özel dershaneler, 1974 yılında 625 Sayılı Özel Öğretim Kurumları Kanununa dayanarak İstanbul ve Ankara gibi büyük şehirlerde faaliyete başlamıştır.
Özel dershanelerde bir yıldan az bir sürede bütün lise müfredatının işlenmesi zorunluluğu vardır. Bu nedenle konular öğrencilere özlü bir şekilde anlatılır.
Coğrafya dersinin ilk ünitelerini fiziki coğrafya konuları oluşturmaktadır. Türkçe-matematik alanındaki öğrenciler sayısal konularda başarılı oldukları oranda coğrafya dersinden de daha fazla soru çözebilmektedir. Sözel alandaki
öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun fen ve matematik bilgileri zayıftır. Sözel alandaki öğrenciler, tarih, coğrafya ve felsefe grubu dersleri içinde, en fazla coğrafya dersinden zorlanmaktadır.
Deneme sınavları sonucunda görülen başarısızlığın nedenini çok az öğrenci kendi eksikliğinde ararken, büyük çoğunluğu coğrafya öğretmenini sorumlu görmektedir. Bu sebeple özel dershanelerde öğretmen-öğrenci ilişkilerinde en fazla problemin yaşandığı derslerin başında coğrafya gelmektedir.
Coğrafya öğretmenlerinin, özel dershanelerde başarılı olmaları için, derse ön hazırlık yapmaları, öğrencilerle iyi bir diyalog kurmaları ve kısa, net ifadelerle konunun özünü öğrencilere kavratmaları gerekmektedir.
ABSTRACT
The Private Courses are educational institutions which have the duty of being a bridge between High Schools and Universities. The fırst private opened in 1974 through the Private EducationalInstitutions Law, number 625, in big cities such as İstanbul and Ankara.
In the private courses it is obliged to end up the whole high school curriculum in a time less than a year. As a of result of this, the subjects are briefly given to the students.
The first units of the geography are Physical geography.Students who study in Turkish-Maths field, can do more auestions in the degree they succeed in numerical field. Most of the students who are in verbal field are not good at
science and maths. The students who are in verbalfield have dijficulty mostly in geography, ambng history, geography andphilosophy lessons.
Only a few students feel guilty for not being successful in the trial exams but most of them think that the geography teachers are responsible for this. Thus, in the private courses geography is the most problematic lesson amonğ the lessons.
To be successful in the private courses, the geography teachers should be prepared for the lessons, they should have good relation with the students and have the students learn the essence of the lessons using brief and clear expressions.
