Dünya çapında ve Türkiye’de en hızlı büyüyen sektör olan fitness sektöründe doğal olarak insan kaynağına da çok fazla ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Farklı bilim alanlarından birçok insan için istihdam anlamında bu sektör bir cazibe haline gelmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; fitness antrenörlük eğitimine katılan bireylerin mesleki alt yapılarının tespit edilip fitness sektörüne yönelim nedenlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2017-2018 dönemi Türkiye Vücut Geliştirme Fitness Bilek Güreşi Federasyonunun İstanbul’da açmış olduğu eğitimlere katılan 36 kadın (Xyaş=29.13±7.21) ve 123 erkek (Xyaş=24.92±5.88) toplam 159 (Xyaş=25.88±6.43) gönüllü aday oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada tarama modeli kullanılmış olup, mevcut durum betimsel yöntemle ortaya konulmuştur. Verilerin değerlendirilmesi için SPSS programı kullanılmış olup normallik testi yapıldıktan sonra tanımlayıcı istatistik, frekans analizi yapılmıştır. Katılımcıların %35,8 Mezun olduğum alanda çalıştım ama mutlu değildim, %8,8 Mezun olduğum alanda çalıştım fakat maddi olarak yetersizdi, %8,2 mezun olduğum alanda iş bulamadım, %8,2 mezun olduğum alanın geleceği açık değildi,% 5,0 mezun olduğum alanda istediğim iş imkânını bulamadım diyerek mezun olduğu alanda ilerlememiştir. Katılımcıların %77,4 daha mutluyum ve bu alanı seviyorum, % 5,7 kendi alanımda iş bulamadım, % 4,4 maddi olarak daha kazançlı, %2,5 Spor salonum olduğu için sertifika almak istedim, % 2,5 diğer sebeplerden dolayı bu alana yöneldiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Sonuç olarak; Katılımcıların eğitim alt yapısı incelendiğinde fitness antrenörlük kurslarına beden eğitimi ve spor yüksekokulu veya spor bilimleri fakültelerinin aksine diğer bölüm alt yapısına sahip okullardan daha çok katılım olduğu gözlemlenmiştir.

More human resources are needed naturally because fitness industry is the fastest growing sector in Turkey and worldwide. This sector is becoming an attraction in terms of employment for many people from different fields of science. The aim of this study was to determine the educational background of people who attended the fitness trainer courses and the reasons why they choose the fitness sector. 36 women (Xage=29.13±7.21) and 123 men (Xage=24.92±5.88) total 159 (Xage=25.88±6.43) participants who attended to the courses held by the Federation of Turkish Body Building Fitness Arm Wrestling during the term 2017-2018 participated in this study voluntarily. In the study, the screening model was used and the present situation was revealed by descriptive method. The data of the study limited to answers given by the candidates who attended to only 1st level trainer course opened in 2017-2018 spring season. SPSS program was used for the evaluation of the data. After normality test, descriptive statistics and frequency analysis were applied. 35.8% of the participants said that they worked in the field they graduated, but they were not happy while 8.8% of them said that they worked in the field they graduated but it was financially inadequate and 8.2% of them said that they could not find a job in the field they graduated and 8.2% of them said that the future of the field they graduated was not clear. Only 5.0% of them said that they could not find the job they want in the field they graduated. Therefore, those did not improve themselves on the field they graduated. They selected fitness sector because 77.4% of the participants was happier and they love this area while 5.7% of them could not find a job in their own area and 4.4% of them said it was more financially profitable. Also 2.5% of them said that they wanted to get a certificate because they owned a gym and 2.5% of them selected this area because of other reasons. As a result, it was observed that there was more participation in fitness coaching courses from the other departments unlike physical education and sports schools or sports sciences faculties.
