Özet

Most biomaterials used in biomedical 3-dimensional (3D) printing technology, such as metals, ceramics, hard polymers and composites, are rigid. These materials are widely used in orthopaedic and dental applications as they can produce customised solutions due to inherent structural and morphological characteristics. Soft polymers, including hydrogels, are widely used in combination with various cells, biological molecules, and drugs for tissue and organ production. Nevertheless, the printing of soft materials is one of the biggest challenges to 3D-printing technology. In this chapter, biomaterials on which research and studies are carried out and their production methods with the 3D-printing technique, applications and technological barriers in printing are discussed.
