Özet

Ethacridine lactate, known as Rivanol, is a cationic acridine dye and a powdered pharmaceutical drug with yellow color used as antiseptic and local analgesic. Adsorption of organic compounds from wastewaters on solid adsorbents such as powdered activated carbon is one of the methods commonly used for removal of organic compounds.

In this study the equilibrium data have been measured spectrophotometrically. The adsorption kinetics has been determined by applying several kinetic models as Lagergren, pseudo-second order and intraparticle diffusion models and the rate constants has been calculated.
