Despite many studies were already performed on halophilic proteins, halophiles are still untapped resource to fulfill future biotechnological and industrial demands. There are still many halophilic candidates producing desirable biocatalysts and biomolecules. Isolation and characterization of novel halophilic species from new saline environments may provide better opportunities for the future.
