The study aims at investigating the status quo of sustainability transition and depicting market, system, and transformation errors on the transition particularly focusing on the organic fraction of the municipal waste throughout Italy. Besides, a variety of policy drivers are to be investigated to propose policy mixes to overcome the barriers related to the transition.
