Proje Özeti

REASON: Most young European citizens miss opportunities and lack access to a satisfactory education & guidance. Meanwhile, EU countries still combat with low education level, unemployment, misemployment and integration of citizens in social and work life. Lisbon strategy aims at reaching a capacity of sustainable growth with more and better jobs and

greater social cohesion. Central to this aim is the need to have a more efficient career guidance approaches, focusing on the misemployment of tomorrow’s work force: youngsters. The Copenhagen Declaration (2002) also refers to the importance of guidance and counselling in EU Member States at all levels of education. With the transfer of CPT (Career

Path Tool), young people from rural areas, who often do not have direct access to career advisers, are given a chance to self-diagnose their predispositions, abilities, skills, personality type and numerous other elements that allow to shape one’s career in a satisfying way.

 

AIMS&OBJECTIVES: S2CPT project aims at developing a career guidance system which can be used as either a stand alone or a complimentary tool in schools. The student-centric approach of the S2CPT lets students gain more by means of online materials. The S2CPT project aims at enabling the use of CPT at wider regions; through providing counselors and teachers the capability for career guiding the young. 4 counselors, 1 school teacher at every partner country will implement the CPT involving parents and students in their schools, where assessment of impact will be delivered through questionnaires and feedback.

 

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONSORTIUM: The consortium covers wide geographical scope (PL, ES, TR, AT, LT) and is well balanced in representing different types of organizations; 1 adult education provider, 2 universities, 1 research institute, 1 local education authority and 1 NGO. Baobab-ES, offers VET for children at risk of social exclusion; Abif-AT, provides expertise in work life and further education; JKC-LT, delivers experience in career education and guidance; BU-TR, the coordinator of the former CPT project, transfers the tool and know-how and ILMEM-TR brings piloting facilities and experience.

 

TANGIBLE&INTANGIBLE OUTCOMES: With the project, an innovative scientific career guidance tool, S2CPT system, to determine career tendencies of individuals and guide them in their career paths, will be available for use. It consists of an online inventory, a curriculum for counselors&teachers, students and parents, and an Implementation Manual for teachers

and counselors. It consists of an online inventory and a curriculum for students, parents and counselors.

 

THE IMPACT ENVISAGED: In the end, CPT will provide secondary and VET school students the awareness of careers and career decision making, supply the school counselors a powerful tool they can use at schools; bring school teachers competency in career guiding; and add the parents the awareness on supporting their children’s career decisions.
