Abstract:

The Department of Music at Kocaeli University's Faculty of Fine Arts is organizing the 2nd Hereke Guitar Days with the aim of introducing and showcasing the original works and endeavors of Turkish guitarist-composers. The event aims to record live performances of unpublished and unperformed guitar pieces and facilitate interactions with composers. Scheduled for April 5-8, 2010, the event will feature concerts where guitarists will introduce their compositions, along with a dedicated webpage for announcements. This initiative seeks to broaden the reach of original guitar compositions, bringing them to a wider audience, and aims to ensure the contributions of Turkish guitarist-composers find their place in the global guitar literature.
