Özet:Eğitim-öğretim ortamında öğrenci ve öğretmene kılavuzluk eden ders kitapları formal eğitim uygulamalarının en önemli araçlarından biridir. Öğrencinin ders içi ve ders dışı eğitim-öğretim çalışmalarında öğrenciye rehberlik eden ders kitapları öngörülen hedef ve davranışların kazanılmasında, bu davranışlardan sapmaların engellenmesinde önemli bir işleve sahiptirler. Öğretmenin neler anlatacağını, hangi etkinliklerde bulunacağını, dersin sunumu sırasında hangi düzeyde dil kullanacağını, nasıl bir değerlendirme yapacağını kitap yardımıyla belirler. Aksi halde hedef ve davranışların gerçekleşmesinde önemli olumsuzluklar yaşanabilmektedir. Bu yüzden ders kitaplarının titizlikle hazırlanması, hazırlanma aşamasında her konuda uzman kişilerin yer alması gerekmektedir. Araştırmada Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı Talim Terbiye Kurulu'nun belirlediği ortaöğretim 9. sınıf coğrafya ders kitapları incelenmiştir. Özellikle araştırmada kitapların her yönüne değinilmeye çalışılmıştır. Kitaplar, çeşitli fiziksel özellikleri, eğitsel özellikleri, görsel tasarım özellikleri ile birlikte dil ve anlatım özellikleri yönünden incelenmiş ve değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Yapılan araştırma ile incelenen kitapların pek çok özelliğiyle birbirlerine benzediği ortaya çıkmıştır. Kitapların fiziksel, eğitsel, görsel ve dil yönünden pek çok yönü ortaktır. Bu durum, kitapların birbirinden ayrışmasını zorlaştırmıştır. Dolayısıyla yapılan değerlendirmeler, aksi belirtilmedikçe, incelen üç kitap içinde geçerli olmuştur. Bu yüzden öğretmenler kitap seçiminde öne çıkan bir ayırt edici ortaya koyamamışlardır. Genel olarak, 9. sınıf coğrafya ders kitapları, eğitim-öğretimi gerçekleştirecek tam yetkinliğe sahip değildir. Bu yüzden bu çalışma, ders kitaplarındaki eksiklik, yetersizlik, yanlışlık durumlarının ortaya çıkarılması ve bunların çözümüne yönelik fikir verme, yol gösterme açısından yararlı olacağı kanısındayız. 24 ABSTRACT Test books which guide both student teacher in the teaching-learning enviroment, are the most important tools of formal educational application. Text books which guide to the students in his teaching-learning study inside and outside the class, have an important function of having foreseen goal and behaviour and of preventing deviation of this behaovior. The teacher decides what he/she will instruct, which fecilities the class is involved, which level of language is used during the presentation of the course and what kind of evaluation is made by the help of the text books. On the countrary, behavior become a fact. There fore, the text books need to be prepared fastidiously, the specialist on every topic need to be presented at the preparing stage. In this research, the secondary education on geography text books at grade level 9 which are determined by revelant association connected to Ministry of National Education, has been investigaded. Especially, it has been tried to mention on every aspects of the text books, in this research. The books has been investigated has been evaluated with respect to it's physical, educational, visual apects together with it's language and expressionaspects. With the research, it has been come out that the investigated books are more or less similar with respect to their aspects. Many of the aspects of the books are common in physical, educational, visual and languistic way. This situation gets diffucult to de compose the books from each other. Consequently, the assements which are stated, on the countrary, are valid for the three books that are investigated in this research. That is why the teachers could not put forward the critien which is to be found on the front in choosing text books. In general, geography text books at grade level 9 are not capable of materializing the teachin-learning process. There fore, this research is useful with respect to point out the absence, insufficiency and falsity situations and guiding and advising the solution of these.
