ABSTRACT The view that the existing evil fact in the universe conflicts with the existence of God the who is omnipotent, omniscient, and perfectly good leads us to the problem of evil. The ongoing discussions through the history on this problem brings along explanations on why God allows evil or why the evil exists. Explanations which advocate God's rightfulness or justice are called "theodicy". Kant emphasizes that philosophical theodicies which try to explain the purpose of God through the world being an object of pure intelligence and experience and he brings a different approach to theodicy within the framework of practical mind. This study aims to reveal Kant's epistemic and moral critics towards traditional philosophical theodicies and his "Authentic Theodicy" approach. At this point, this study has been shaped by the analysis of Kant's ideas within the framework of the article titled "On the Failure of All Attemped Philosophical Theodicies” and the support of his own works As a reasonable result of Kant's critical philosophy, it has been seen that a theodicy perspective in theoretical dimension is impossible. Kant believes that traditional philosophical theodicies are inconsistent and unethical. In addition, it is emphasized that although it is considered that we can obtain the knowledge of God's purpose as stated by theodicy authors, it can lead us to a moral disaster. It is observed that as an alternative, the authentic perspective of Kant who approaches theodicy as a faith issue within the framework of practical mind is anthropocentric. Kant's practical and moral theodicy approach which brings judgement day to this world instead of theodicies which ignore the presence of evil or lead God-human relationship into a bigger theological dead-end has opened a new door for humanbeing to accept the evil and overcome it. For this reason, we believe that further studies to be conducted on this issue will attract attention to Kant's approach. Key Words: problem of evil, theodicy, Kant, critical philosophy, theodicy critics, authentic theodicy.
