Interpretation of the language of religion, moral philosophers such as Hare and Braithwaite has been prioritized. Braithwaite, providing motivation to perform the religious expressions as elements interprets the moral intentions. Functionalist philosopher’s interpretations of religious language were criticized for being reductionist. At the same time, this attitude has evaluated by the theist philosophers as an approach which ignores the divine qualities. In this study the functional analysis of religious language has been criticized to be reductionist. Key words: Braithwaite, religious language, verification, functionalism and conative.
