In The work called ?Ornamentation Characteristics of the Mesnevies Find Out in The Suleymaniye Library? there are no sources except few articles concerning the Poems Ornamentation and they samples find out in the Suleymaniye Library, therefore this work is aiming to do a little contribution to this subject.
Together with the Poems of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, Kuran and books explaining and interpreting Islamism, for the first time literature book is gilded in this kind of monumental manner, magnificently, glamorous style.
Among the Poems found in Suleymaniye Library, in this study specified in a chronological way, and taken into the evaluation in the catalogue section, containing from each century samples, is tried to come towards the aimed results.
Starting from the first gilded Poem in the period of Selcuk?s State and Anatolian Principalities, trough following a systematical program is seen that changes are noticed in every books section pages ornamentation of the Poem applied in paraphrases, starter, headgear, title, epilogs in an accordance to the periods characteristics. In the Poems that are issued with purpose to be presented for showing off purposes rather than to be read, more richer ornamentations are seen, the Poems that are issued for reading purpose, they ornaments are rather simple ones and can be thought that these Poems are issued for the Mesnevians (Poets).
In first sample writings writing area was established with four columns, later on samples can be found with texts that two and three columns were added. After the investigations is find out another characteristics that is the Kuran rose ornamentation as a tradition in the Kuran ornamentations, this is applied in the most oldest Poem. This is so especially in the works of Mevlana and his son, like a special application arrangements in Anatolia. This specification ornamentation of Poems is given up in the latest works. After the investigation of many Poems is find out that there can not be seen usage of this specific ornament. Although sometimes were seen in the starter pages in between the test and in the upper parts, sometimes in different stopping places as well.
