This
study, titled "An analysis of a 16th. Century's Qur?an?s ornamenting elements
in terms of style, pattern and motif" is to investigate a Qur?an with
inventory number A 6566 in Arabic Manuscripts Catalogue in Rare Books and
Manuscripts Library in Istanbul University. Consisting of three parts, in the
first part under the title of illumination art in the periods of Sultan Beyazid
II., Sultan Yavuz Selim and Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent; of those
periods adorning conception and craftsmen are investigated. In the second
part given general information about Qur'ans, application of adorning on
Qur'an pages are introduced by their features. In the third part, Qur'an with
inventory number A 6566 in Arabic Manuscripts Catalogue in Rare Books and
Manuscripts Library in Istanbul University is analysed in terms of its
ornaments and adorning of the work approached delicately with photograph,
drawing and pattern analysis. |
