Özet:Burhan Cahit Morkaya, Cumhuriyet’e yaklaşan yıllarda ve Cumhuriyet döneminde yazdığı romanlarda Türk toplumunun çeşitli meselelerini yüzeysel işleyen popüler romanlar yazmıştır. Burhan Cahit, romanlarında kadın kahramanlara önemli yer verir. Çünkü siyasi sosyal değişimin kadın cinsi üzerindeki etkisi erkeğe etkisinden daha yoğundur. Romanlarında kadın-erkek ilişkileri üzerinde çok duran yazarın kadın kahramanlarını iki bölümde incelemek mümkündür: Savaş konulu romanların kahramanı kadınlar, barış dönemi romanların kahramanı kadınlar. Burhan Cahit Morkaya’nın kadın kahramanları arasında en olumlu bulduğu ve topluma model olarak sunduğu tip, Cumhuriyet döneminin realist, iyimser, eğitimli-çalışan, spor-sanat düşkünü genç kız tipidir. ABSTRACT Burhan Cahit Morkaya, wrote popular novels about various aspects of Turkısh society during the period just before and after the announcement of the Turkısh Republıc. However, his novels are not efficient to give a deep understanding of the various aspects of Turkish society. Burhan Cahit Morkaya gives importance to heroines in his novels, because the effects of socio-political changes on women were more intensive than men in that period in question. Burhan Cahit shows a special attention to the relationship of women and men in his novels. It is possible to examine his heroines in two classification: The heroines in the novels which are about the war and the heroines in his novels of the peace period. Among it’s heroines, the most ideal model for the society is the figure of a young woman who is a realist, positivist, well-educated, sophisticated and hard working, and who is also fond of sports and art, as a symbol of the new Turkish Republic.
