Özet:MARMARA ÜNİVERSİTESİ EĞİTİM FAKÜLTESİ FİZİK ÖĞRETMENLİĞİ ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN ÖĞRETMENLİK MESLEĞİNE İLİŞKİN TUTUMLARI Bu araştırmanın amacı, Marmara Üniversitesi Atatürk Eğitim Fakültesi Fizik Öğretmenliğinde okuyan öğrencilerin öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarını ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Atatürk Eğitim Fakültesi Fizik Öğretmenliği Bölümünde okuyan toplam 124 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verilerinin toplanması aşamasında, Şaban Çetin’in “Öğretmenlik mesleği tutum ölçeğinin geliştirilmesi (geçerlilik ve güvenilirlik çalışması)” adlı çalışması sonucu ortaya çıkan anket kullanılmıştır(Çetin,2006). Anket iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölüm demografik özellikleri belirlemek için 6 sorudan (yaş, cinsiyet, sınıf, bölüm tercih sıralaması, ebeveyn eğitim düzeyi, orta öğretim başarı puanı), ikinci bölüm ise öğrencilerin öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek amacı ile hazırlanan 35 soru ve 3 boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Birinci alt boyut sevgi alt boyutudur ve 22 sorudan, ikinci alt boyut değer alt boyutudur ve 8 sorudan, üçüncü alt boyut uyum alt boyutudur ve 5 sorudan oluşmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda; öğretmen adaylarının Fizik Öğretmenliğine karşı tutumlarının, düşük olduğu ve sınıf düzeyleri değişkeni göre anlamlı olarak farklılık gösterdiği görülmüştür. Ayrıca öğretmenlik mesleğine karşı “uyum” alt boyutunda cinsiyet ve yaş değişkenlerine göre, “değer” alt boyutunda ise orta öğretim başarı puanı değişkenine göre anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Bu araştırma sonuçlarına baktığımızda eğitim araştırmacılarının, öğrencilerin öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarıyla ilgili daha detaylı araştırma yapmaları ve nedensel bağlantılar kurmaları gerektiği, düşünülmektedir. ABSTRACT THE ATTITIUDE OF THE STUDENTS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF TEACHING PHYSICS IN MARMARA UNIVERSITY TOWARDS “TEACHING” The aim of this study is to present the attitudes of students towards the teaching profession. The sample of this study is composed of 124 students in Physics Teaching Department of Atatürk Education Faculty in Marmara University. In the data collection process the survey, established by Şaban Çetin, was used. The name of his study was “Development of teaching profession attitude scale (validity and accountability)” (Çetin, 2006). The survey is composed of two parts. The first part consists of 6 questions with the purpose of determining demographic features (age, sex, class, department choice grading, parents’ education level, high school diploma grade). The second part consists of 35 questions and 3 dimensions prepared with the purpose of determining the attitudes of students towards the teaching profession. The first sub-dimension is the sub-dimension of love and consists of 22 questions; the second sub-dimension is the sub-dimension of value and consists of 8 questions and the third sub-dimension is the sub-dimension of harmony and consists of 5 questions. Looking at the general view of the research results, it is seen that the average of the sub-dimension of love is higher than the averages of the sub-dimensions of value and harmony. Following this study, a significant difference was found between the attitudes of students towards the Physics Teaching profession and class levels. A significant difference was found between the sub-dimension of harmony towards the teaching profession and variables of sex and age; between the sub-dimension of value and high school GPA of the students. With respect to the results of the study, it was thought that there is a need for detailed researches on students’ attitudes toward teaching profession and for constructing causal relationship.
