Özet:ÖZET KLASİK JEOPOLİTİK PERSPEKTİFİNDEN ABD’NİN IRAK MÜDAHALELERİ Soğuk savaş sonrası, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, dünyada hegemon bir güç olduğunu çeşitli güç merkezleri üzerinden dünyaya göstermiştir. Bu anlamda önemli bölgelerden birisi de Ortadoğu’dur. 2003 Irak savaşında ABD, klasik jeopolitik yöntemleri kullanarak Irak’ı işgal etmiştir. Yaptığımız bu araştırmanın amacı, bilinen Irak işgalini anlatmak değildir. Çalışmadaki temel gaye klasik jeopolitik yönteminin kullanılarak bir ülkenin diğer bir ülkeyi nasıl kolonize ettiğini göstermeye çalışmaktır. Bu bağlamda da ABD’nin mekân üretimi ve söylem analizi incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın ilk kısımlarında klasik jeopolitik teorisinin öncülerinden bahsedilerek, teorilerin tarihsel süreci ele alınmıştır. Son bölümde ise Irak işgali vaka analizi şeklinde incelenmiştir. Irak işgal edilmezden evvel öne sürülen argümanlar ile işgale hazır hale getirilmesinde kuşkusuz klasik jeopolitiğin büyük katkısı olmuştur. Bu çalışmada klasik jeopolitiğin hâlihazırdaki canlılığına dikkat çekilmiş ve bu teori eleştirel tarzda Irak işgali üzerinden okunmaya çalışılmıştır. -------------------- ABSTRACT US INTERVENTİON IN IRAQ FROM THE CLASSİCAL GEOPOLİTİCAL PERSPECTİVE After the Cold War, the United States has shown to the world through various power centers that hegemon power in the world is. One of the important areas in this sense is the Middle East. In the 2003 Iraq war, the US occupied Iraq using classical geopolitical methods. The purpose of this research is not to describe the known occupation of Iraq. The main purpose of the study is to show how a country colonizes another country by using the classical geopolitical method. In this context, space production and discourse analysis of the USA were examined. In the first part of the study, the pioneers of classical geopolitical theory were mentioned and the historical process of theories was discussed. In the last section, the invasion of Iraq was examined as case study. Classical geopolitics has undoubtedly contributed to making Iraq ready for occupation with arguments put forward before the invasion. This study draws attention to the current vitality of classical geopolitics.
