Özet:Türkiye’deki popüler sinema 1960’lı yıllardan 1980’lere kadar klişeleşmiş Yeşilçam sinemasının melodram kalıpları ve star oyuncuları ile halkın eğlence aracı olmuştur. 1980’lerde yaşanan toplumsal olaylar Türk sinemasının bireyi keşfetmesini sağlamıştır. 1990’lara gelindiğindeyse birey merkezli filmlerin dışında, medyatik insanları kullanarak, klasik Yeşilçam teknikleri dışında çekilmiş popüler filmler görürüz. 90’lı yıllar, ayrıca genç sinemacıların yurtdışı festivallerindeki başarılarına da sahne olur. Yönetmenlerin filmlerini yaparken izlediği yol onların bağımsız olarak adlandırılmalarına neden olur. Bağımsız yönetmenler klasik anlatım biçimlerinin dışında kendilerine özgü bir tarz geliştirmişlerdir. Türk sinemasında bağımsız yönetmenlerin çıkmasına neden olan koşullar 90’lı yıllarda oluşmuş ve 1994 yılından sonra da ivme kazanmıştır. Şimdiye kadar 4 uzun metrajlı film çeken Reha Erdem’de bağımsız bir yönetmen olduğunu belirtmektedir. Yönetmenin bağımsız olup olmadığını anlayabilmek için sinemasını ve çalışma sistemini iyi incelemek gerekmektedir. ABSTRACT The popular film industry in Turkey from the 60's untill 80's, has been the entertainment instrument for the people with Yesilcam "clichés" and its melodrama formworks and stars. The social events that happened in the 80's, provided Turkish film industry to discover "individual". When we look at the 90's, we see that the individual centered movies gives its place to the popular movies, in which the most famous and popular people has been used as actors, and these movies were also shot with different technics then the classical Yesilcam style. And the 90's, was also the success years for the young directors in the foreign festivals. The method, that the directors were using for their movies, caused them to be named as "independent". The independent directors developed a new method peculiar to them, than the classical forms. In Turkish film industry the conditions for the appareance of the independent directors had been formed in the 90's and has been accelerate since the 1994. Reha Erdem who specifies him self an independent director, shot 4 movies untill today. To understand a director is independent, it is a must to examine carefully his/her cinema and working system.
