ABSTRACT INVESTIGATION OF TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS FOR INDUSTRIAL BINDING SYSTEMS Binding is a concept including processes of converting folded paper plates in forms to printed materials such as books, magazines, brochures besides the expression of placing cover required for a book in a proper and aesthetical manner. Gathering printed forms or single pages and taking in a proper cover constitutes majority of binding works. However some boxes, folders and similar production and lamination coatings produced with cardboard materials also included in binding works. Criterion such as ease of implementation, durability, practicability and cost, play a major role for method selection. Converting works requiring binding processes such as magazines, books, catalogues, brochures which their printing processes realized by utilizing different printing methods from plates to form and binding processes such as trapping, spiral, cellophane, wire binding, breaking and folding are all realized by industrial binding machines. Proper binding of a printed work bears a great importance for printing. Printing houses and bookbinderies closely follow up changes for industrial binding machines continuously developing for the purpose of non-problematic delivery of binding works to its customers and to minimize their production costs. Industrial binding machines used for binding processes must be well investigated for the purpose of increasing quality and efficiency and to save time and production costs.
