Özet:Bu araştırma ilköğretim 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin ders çalışma alışkanlıklarının ve ortamlarının incelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda dört alt amaç belirlenmiştir. Bu amaçlar: öğrencilerin evlerinde ders çalışma ortam ve olanakları, öğrencilerin ders çalışma ortam ve olanaklarını kullanma durumları, ders çalışma alışkanlıkları ve ders çalışmalarında öğretmenin rolünün belirlenmesidir. Çalışmada konu ile ilgili geniş bir literatüre yer verilmiştir. Araştırma verilerinin elde edilmesi için hazırlanan anketin geliştirilmesinde, ilgili literatürün yanı sıra öğrenci, öğretmen ve velilerle yapılan görüşme verilerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın amaçlarına göre geliştirilen anketin 208’i dördüncü ve 195’i beşinci sınıf olmak üzere 403 ilköğretim okulu öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre; öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun ders çalışma ortam ve olanaklarının yeterli olduğu ve öğrencilerin bu olanakları ders çalışama sürecinde kullandıkları belirlenmiştir. Ailelerinin ders çalışma sürecine katkılarının olduğu, öğrencilerde ders çalışma alışkanlığının oluştuğu, buna karşın evlerinde ders çalışmaya başlamada zorlandıkları görülmektedir. Dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin ders çalışmada daha istekli oldukları belirlenirken, televizyon izlemenin genel olarak öğrencilerin ders çalışma süreçlerini olumsuz etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin öğrencilere nasıl ders çalışacağını öğrettiği, verilen ödevleri genelde gününde kontrol ettiği, kütüphaneden nasıl yararlanacağının öğretilmesine rağmen öğrencilerin çok az bir oranının okul kütüphanesinden yararlandıkları belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin, öğrencilerin internetten bilgiye ulaşması konusunda daha az rehberlik yaptıkları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın son kısmında, araştırma bulgularından elde edilen sonuçlara göre konu ile ilgili öneriler geliştirilmiştir. II ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to examine the environment and the habit of studying lessons of the 4th and 5th grade primary school students. For this reason, four subtitles are determined which are as follows: the study environment and facilities of students at home, how effectively they use the environment and facilities they have, their habits of studying lessons and the role of their teacher in this process. There are plenty of literatures related to the subject in this research. In improvement of the questionnaire prepared to get the research data, the data of interviews made with students, teachers and parents as well as related literature are used. The questionnaire prepared for the aim of research were answered by 403 primary school students that 208 of them is in the 4th grade and 195 of them is in the 5th grade classrooms. According to the findings of research, it seems that most of the students have enough environment and facilities, and they use these conditions during their studies of lessons. It also shows that families contribute to the study of their children, and students began to get the habit of studying their lessons, but it seems very difficult for them to study at home. It is seen that the fourth grade students are eager in studying their lessons than the others, on the other hand, television has a negative effects on the lesson study period of the students in general. Although, teachers teach the students how to study their lessons, check the homework of their students on time, and show them how to get books from any libraries, very few of the students have visited the library of their school. Another important finding is that teachers do not help or lead to their students how to use internet in their lessons effectively. In the final part of the research, some suggestions are put forth according to the outcomes taken from the research findings.
