Kadıköy özelinde çağdaş sokak sanatı

Özet:

Sokak sanatı yakın zamana kadar ilgili olduğu altkültürler dışındaki kesim tarafından vandalizm ya da en iyi niyetli yaklaşımla “haylazlık” olarak nitelendirilmekteyken, zamanla birçok kişi ve kurum tarafından kabul görmüş, o kadar ki sanatseverlerin takip ettikleri favori sokak sanatçıları oluşmuştur. Gelinen aşamada sokak sanatçıları bu kimlikleriyle müzelerde dahi boy göstermiş, galeriler tarafından talep görmeye başlamıştır. Yalnızca bu türe ev sahipliği yapan galeri ve müzelerin çoğaldığı süreçte, koleksiyonerlerin sokak sanatçılarının eserlerine olan ilgisi de yoğunlaşmıştır. Teknolojinin gelişimiyle olanakların artması, daha güçlü ifade için bir açılıma duyulan ihtiyaç ve oluşan popülaritenin de etkisiyle daha önceleri graffiti ve benzeri tarzları tanımlayan sokak sanatı kavramı, artık enstalasyondan performansa kadar çok çeşitli üretim biçimlerini kapsamaktadır. Tarz ve üretim biçimlerinin çoğaldığı bu dönemde tezin asıl konusu olan Kadıköy özelinde de bir farklılaşma göze çarpmaktadır. Tez çalışmasının amacı toplumun ortak alanına sanatçı inisiyatifiyle yapılan bu sanat uygulamalarını incelemek, ortaya çıkan tespit ve paradoksları ele almak, Kadıköy’de belirginlik kazanan bu sanatsal harekete de ışık tutmaktır. Çalışmada konuyu yakından ilgilendiren kamusal alan ve sokak kavramları, İstanbul ve Kadıköy’ün kentsel, sosyokültürel yapıları araştırılmıştır. Sokak sanatı kendisini önceleyen akım ve altkültürlerden itibaren ele alınarak incelenmiş, daha sonra Türkiye ve Kadıköy coğrafyası özelinde gelişim süreci tarihsel bağlamda araştırılmıştır. Kadıköy’de üretim yapan sokak sanatçılarıyla yüz yüze görüşmeler yapılmış, fikirleri, konu hakkındaki görüşleri ve çalışmaları yansıtılmaya çalışılmıştır. Üretimlerin yoğunlaştığı bölgeleri görebilmek adına, başlıklar altında incelenen 7 sanatçının çalışmalarının yerlerinin işaretlendiği bir harita oluşturulmuştur. Tez, bu bağlamda üretilip Kadıköy sınırları içinde uygulanan eserlerin belgelenmesiyle son bulmuştur. -------------------- Until recently, street art was characterized as vandalism or with best intention as “idleness” by the groups other than the interested subcultures, in time, it was accepted by many people and authorities and able to develop such an appreciation to generate favorite street artists of art lovers to follow. Where we stand now, street artists have appeared even in museums with these idendities, have started to be demanded by art galleries. In the process of the increase in the number of art galleries and museums which hosts only this genre, interest of the collectors has intensified in the works of the street artists. With the effect of increasing opportunities with the development of technology, the need for an evolution for stronger expression and the popularity, street art concept, priorly defined as graffiti and the similar styles, now includes many various production styles such as from installation art to performances. During this period of increase in styles and production styles, a differentiation draws the attention in the main subject of the thesis in specific to Kadıköy. The aim of this thesis is to examine these art practices made by the initiative of artists in the common field of the society, to address the findings and paradoxes that emerged, and to shed light on this artistic movement which has gained prominence in Kadıköy. In this study, the concepts of public space and street, urban and socio-cultural structures of Istanbul and Kadikoy are investigated. Street art have been examined begining from the former movements and subcultures, then researched the development progress in context of history in specific to Turkey and Kadıköy. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with the street artists engaged in production in Kadıköy, and their ideas, views and studies on the subject were tried to be reflected. In order to see the regions where production is concentrated, a map was created in which the places of the works of the 7 artists who were examined in the sections were marked. Thesis was ended with the documentation of the works of art applied within the borders of Kadıköy which were produced in this context.
